Chili is one of those meals that my entire family enjoys. Having no complaints at mealtime is a nice change. It includes all the food groups and can be made in no time at all. Leftovers will work well for school lunches in a thermos.

20 Minute Chili
Nutritious, Simple & Delicious. Enjoyed by all and can be made in no time at all.
Servings 4 people
Ingredients
- 1 lb Lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp Ground chili powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Dried thyme leaves
- Ground black pepper
- 3 Peppers, diced
- 1 can Diced tomatoes (28 oz, unsalted)
- 1 can Kidney or black beans, drained and rinsed (19 oz)
- 1/2 cup Chopped fresh basil (or 1 tbsp dried)
Instructions
- Add 1 Tbsp oil to a large saucepan or wok over medium-high heat. Crumble in the beef. Sprinkle with chili and garlic powder, thyme, salt and pepper. Stir often until no pink remains, 5-6 minutes. Add tomatoes and peppers.
- Bring to a boil, stirring often, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for approx. 8-10 minutes. Stir in beans and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in basil.
