Cauliflower Steak with Avocado Sauce

Meatless Mondays or any day of the week that you want an easy and delicious vegetarian recipe. My entire family loves cauliflower steak. It is both sweet and salty that you will fall in love with the flavours. The heart-healthy avocado sauce is a true winner. Make lots as it often goes quickly. Feel free to also make the avocado sauce as a dip with other veggies or tortilla chips as a delicious snack.

Give it a try and let me know what you think with a comment or rating.

Ingredients:

For the cauliflower:

Avocado Sauce:

Directions:

1.  Remove the outer leaves from cauliflower. Cut off the bottom stem end so that you create a flat base and can stand the cauliflower up on cutting board. Resting the cauliflower on the stem, use a large knife to trim away the sides. Then cut the cauliflower into 1-inch “steaks.”

2.  In a small bowl, stir together olive oil and honey. Brush the olive oil mixture over the top of the cauliflower steaks (both sides). Then sprinkle with Montreal seasoning over the top.

3.  Prepare the avocado topping: in a medium bowl, whisk together the parsley and cilantro, garlic, lime juice, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Add the avocado and gently stir to combine.

4.  Make cauliflower on a grill or BBQ.  Cook for 5-6 minutes per side. Serve with the avocado sauce.
