Brown Rice Krispie Treats

Who doesn't love rice krispie squares? I promise you will love these krispie rice treats even more. Made with wholesome ingredients for the whole family to enjoy, like brown rice and nut butter. Must try!!!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/2 cups brown crispy rice cereal
  • 1/4 cup cacoa nibs
  • 1/2 cup smooth nut butter
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp's coconut oil (melted)
  • Melted dark chocolate, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the brown rice cereal and cacao nibs.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the nut butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil. Stir constantly over low heat until melted, 1-3 minutes.
  • Pour the melted nut butter mixture into the bowl and mix until the cereal is coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press down on it with a spatula to form an even layer.
  • Chill the mixture in the fridge until set, about 1 hour. Slice into 9 bars and drizzle some chocolate, if desired.

Notes

Best to leave stored in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
