These burgers were truly a winner in our home. Enjoy with a butternut squash circle or sweet potato as the “bun.” This recipe is beyond flavourful with fresh lime, paprika, and cumin. Serve with guacamole and salsa and you will be in heaven. Feel free to sub the squash with a whole wheat bun. I love that this recipe is both nourishing and satisfying. It is high protein, gluten-free and low-carb which makes it 5-stars in my opinion.
I grilled the burgers in my cast iron skillet. However, if you prefer less oil, you can bake as well. If you choose to bake, cook at 375° for approx 10 minutes per side.
